Several weeks ago Todd was headed to Arizona, so we decided it would be lots of fun if we hopped in with him! It took us fourteen hours to get there! We tried to be prepared. We had movies and games and snacks, the boys did especially well. Their favorite was the packages of pipe cleaners. We made all kinds of creatures and animals. It kept them busy for hours. Reece got picked on a little bit because she was sandwiched between the boys in the back, but for the most part the ride down wasn't too bad!
The boys were so excited to go swimming while we were there. While Todd worked, we visited the pool and the park several times. It wasn't quite warm enough for the pool but the boys didn't care. They hung out in the hot tub most of the time!
We went to the zoo one day. Weston and Holden were really excited about this. Our favorite animal was the baboon. It looked like it was sitting right by the boys. We walked the whole zoo and then a little more! It was a really neat zoo, but I thought it was lacking a few animals. We never did find the bears!
We visited the Mesa temple one night. It's such a pretty building. The architecture is a lot different then the temples that surround us here in Utah. It's really fun to show the boys that the church is everywhere. They were running around the temple grounds like crazy. I guess we still need to work on reverence!
Todd loves the Hoover Dam, so he took us home through Las Vegas. This is the new concrete bridge that they are building over the dam. He thought it was amazing, it really was!
We stayed a night in St. George, and while Todd was working we found this really fun park to play at. Vacations are a little bit easier right now because we don't have to plan elaborate activities. The boys are totally happy just to run and play at any park!
We hit Zions on our way home. It was beautiful! We drove the boys through the long tunnel and we got out and went on a short hike. Holden didn't want to be strapped down, but there were a lot of cliffs and steep areas, and he has no fear. I'm not sure what we are going to do with him when he's too big for the pack! (I have a feeling it's going to be soon!)
We had such a good time. It's so fun to be able to go with Todd on his work trips. We've been able to go to lots of fun places, and it's just fun to be together even if the trips are a little CRAZY!
