Our White Trash Camping Adventure!

Todd took some much needed time off and we loaded up the truck and trailer and took the kids camping for the weekend. Since it was a holiday we were a little nervous because we didn't have reservations. When we pulled into the campground they had one spot left. We were so happy! Weston had been looking forward to this trip for days! Every morning when he woke up he would ask, "Is this the day we are going to camping?"
We looked like white trash campers. The back of the truck was full because of the four wheeler, so Todd hooked Weston's bike on top of the trailer.
We tried to send Weston exploring to keep him busy. He got really good at looking for wood.
Notice how clean Weston looks. This is just the first couple of hours. Holden spent a lot of time in his stroller. He wanted to get down, so we ended up taking him on a lot of walks, good thing the roads were paved.

Nana and Papa Laker came up one afternoon in the jeep and went on a ride with Todd and Weston. Weston had been looking forward to this ride for weeks! They had a fun ride, and Nana and Papa stayed and had a yummy dutch oven dinner with us. Grandma and Grandpa Wright also came up one morning. The boys tried to fish, but it was really windy outside. Weston thought he would help catch the fish's attention by throwing rocks in the lake!

Holden loved the trailer. He crawled all over the beds, and always had his face pushed up against the screens.

One drawback to the tent trailer is no bathroom. We had to use the outhouse and it was stinky!! Weston refused to go. So we made him a bandanna so that it was a little more bearable for him!
The big green bucket worked out great for a bath. Todd would boil up some water and the boys would have a soak each day. I wish that the bucket was big enough for me!

This was the last night. I think Weston was a little worn out. He'd played hard, digging in the dirt and riding his bike the entire time. He had a great time and is already wanting to go again! It was a lot of work, but looking back, it was worth it!

Weston is 3!

We can't believe that our little guy has already turned three. The time has flown by and we've had so many wonderful moments with our Weston. Todd was away at scout camp on Weston's birthday so we celebrated a little bit in the morning with a couple of presents and a candle in his french toast. We wanted to wait and celebrate Weston's big day when his daddy got home.

Weston wanted a shark cake like "Bruce" on Nemo. This was my attempt at a cake!

We had a little party with all of our family. Weston got a lot of really fun gifts. We gave him a new scooter, helmet and knee pads. He needs the knee pads because he's a little clumsy!
Weston loves diggers! He got a lot of diggers from both of his grandparents. He was looking for a one arm digger with tracks, but we couldn't find one. He was thrilled with the ones he got. He's been out digging in the dirt in the backyard almost everyday.
Thanks everyone for making his birthday special!

Summer Fun!

We've been a little behind on our blogging this summer, so here are some pictures of the fun things we've been doing!

We went to Lagoon with Alisa and Cohen. Weston's favorite ride was the Magic Kingdom Train ride!

Weston and Cohen wanted to drive the cars over and over again!
Puff was my favorite ride!

Weston started taking gymnastics this month. This is him in the bungees. On his first day he cried when his teacher put him in it, but now he loves it. He's been practicing his back handsprings, but he loves just to jump high.

We've spent some time with cousins who live far away.

Todd taught Weston to pee in the backyard and now that's the only place he wants to go!

We've spent a lot of time swimming in the backyard. Holden loves the water.
