Todd took some much needed time off and we loaded up the truck and trailer and took the kids camping for the weekend. Since it was a holiday we were a little nervous because we didn't have reservations. When we pulled into the campground they had one spot left. We were so happy! Weston had been looking forward to this trip for days! Every morning when he woke up he would ask, "Is this the day we are going to camping?"
We looked like white trash campers. The back of the truck was full because of the four wheeler, so Todd hooked Weston's bike on top of the trailer.
We tried to send Weston exploring to keep him busy. He got really good at looking for wood.
Notice how clean Weston looks. This is just the first couple of hours.
Holden spent a lot of time in his stroller. He wanted to get down, so we ended up taking him on a lot of walks, good thing the roads were paved.
Nana and Papa Laker came up one afternoon in the jeep and went on a ride with Todd and Weston. Weston had been looking forward to this ride for weeks! They had a fun ride, and Nana and Papa stayed and had a yummy dutch oven dinner with us.
Grandma and Grandpa Wright also came up one morning. The boys tried to fish, but it was really windy outside. Weston thought he would help catch the fish's attention by throwing rocks in the lake!

Holden loved the trailer. He crawled all over the beds, and always had his face pushed up against the screens.
One drawback to the tent trailer is no bathroom. We had to use the outhouse and it was stinky!! Weston refused to go. So we made him a bandanna so that it was a little more bearable for him!
The big green bucket worked out great for a bath. Todd would boil up some water and the boys would have a soak each day. I wish that the bucket was big enough for me!
This was the last night. I think Weston was a little worn out. He'd played hard, digging in the dirt and riding his bike the entire time. He had a great time and is already wanting to go again! It was a lot of work, but looking back, it was worth it!
